Bike Selection
There are many types of bikes available today that are designed to suit specific uses and riding
styles. This is really great for the cyclist but can prove a little daunting when it comes to
choosing your new bike.
The experienced team at Avantiplus Nelson will help you fully understand your needs and assist
you in deciding on the best bike for your requirements and budget.
We are the biggest bike shop in Nelson/Richmond and the only Avantiplus dealer in the area. This
allows us to offer you the broadest range of bikes to choose from.
To view a selection of the bikes we have, use the menu options on the left of this page (BMX
Bikes, Childrens Bikes etc).
Bike Fit
When you have chosen the correct type of bike for your style of riding you must then select the
right size of frame. This then has to be adjusted to make it comfortable, safe and efficient for
you to ride.
This process is known as "bike fit" and is a service included with each bike we sell. Everyone who
works in the shop is a keen cyclist and experienced in providing expert advice in this area.
We will help you get the correct frame size and then adjust the following:-
- Saddle height and position
- Handlebar height and stem length
- Pedal choice (if req'd)
What size bike should I buy?
Bikes vary in size from different manufacturers so you should always get our experienced staff to
advise you on the correct size needed. Here is an approximate guide:-
